Court Technologist Advanced Audio/Video Certification Course
Williamsburg, VA, June 12, 2006In its continuing effort to provide a quality standard for court personnel responsible for audio and video systems, Courtroom 21 and William and Mary Law School will host a Court Technologist Advanced Audio/Video Certification Program.
Cost of the program is $650.00, with discounts for Courtroom 21 Court Affiliates personnel. Course instruction will be given by Martin Gruen, an expert in the field of courtroom design and John Byram, Chief Audio Visual Engineer for the Ninth Judicial Circuit of Florida. Martin has over 30 years experience in the field and has designed many of the nation’s state-of-the-art court technology installations. John has a background in broadcast engineering and has designed and installed the Fiber Optics network used throughout many of the courthouses and locations within the Ninth Judicial Circuit.
Topics include:
- Maintenance and Repair
- Learn the basics of why and how audio and video equipment is maintained
- Acquire methods of problem diagnosis and repair procedures
- Use test measurement equipment to adjust, align, test and repair devices
- Terminate various types of cables typically used in audio and video systems
- Introduction to Blueprints and Construction Issues
- Read and understand blueprints and electrical diagrams
- Learn about bid specifications
- Gain basic comprehension of other normal documents used in new construction and renovation of court facilities
